The thinness of this TV (because of LED backlighting) and the built-in DVD player make it a desirable replacement for RV’s. I just installed this HLC19SL2 in an RV and was glad to find that it accepts 12vdc directly with a size M power jack from Radio Shack (5.5mm x 2.1mm). Lot’s of nice features and consumes just 36 watts. Very pleased with this LED LCD DVD HDTV!

  2. I love this TV. The DVD is what I use it for primarily. It seems to work just fine. Picture is great, sound is very good and the controller seems easy enough to use. It also had a headphone jack for speakers or headphones which is also nice. It has an input to let you plug in HD components like satellite or even a blu ray player. I actually have my PS3 player hooked to it so I’m getting full high definiton for my movies. If you’re going to use the DVD player on the TV itself, be careful not to move the TV while the DVD is running. I did this and it scratched the DVD, but that’s pretty much common sense not to move this thing when it’s in motion.

My only problem I had with this thing is when I had a DVD that had multiple angles on it. The angle change works fine enough, but for the entire DVD, an “angle” icon stays on the TV. I was unable to find a way to remove it at all. It’s very annoying. It only pops up for DVD’s that “support multiple” angles which these DVD’s are not very common. I was watching a 3 Stooges DVD that one angle was black and white, and the other was color. I’m sure there is a way to remove it, but I could not figure it out. All in all though, great TV. Perhaps a little pricey, but you’re getting a good TV, and that’s what’s important.

Just installed the Haier HLC19SL2 on my boat. Worked great using the supplied 120 VAC power module. When I hooked up to 12 VDC it smoked and is now trash. Don’t have origional packaging to return it. Will most likly buy another and use a 12VDC to 120VAC inverter to power it.
